Nancy Thoma Groetken, Regional Administrator, Region VII (Kansas City)
Nancy Thoma Groetken is the Regional Administrator for the Administration for Children and Families, Region VII. She provides administrative oversight and program coordination to ensure the agencies’ goals, objectives and plans are effectively pursued in partnership with the states of Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska, and the Tribes located within these borders. Ms. Thoma Groetken also serves ACF Region VII as the Regional Program Manager for the Office of Child Support.
Since joining ACF in 2003, Ms. Thoma Groetken has been involved in a variety of national projects including facilitating strategic planning workgroups, facilitating the medical support incentive indicator workgroup, and leading collaboration meetings among State, Tribal and Federal CSE, Medicaid, CHIP, and Child Welfare program officials. She is a nationally requested public speaker on children and family topics.
Ms. Thoma Groetken began her career in human services with the state of Iowa in 1979 where she held casework, managerial and leadership positions across the array of human services programs. From 1999 through 2003, Nancy served as the Director of the State of Iowa’s Child Support program.
Ms. Thoma Groetken is married, a mother, a grandmother, and a tireless advocate for all children.
