PURPOSE: The purpose of this program is to strengthen community-based approaches to Marriage Education and strengthen families in impoverished communities.
In Somerset, NJ, the First Baptist Community Development Corporation (CDC), using a curriculum called Marriage Build, is educating 20-25 at-risk African American couples. Couples take part in a monthly Couples Roundtable, partnering with a service coordinator from an existing family support system.

PURPOSE: In Uniontown, PA, the Fayette County Community Action Agency (CAA) provides 20 couples with marriage preparation, including the PREPARE inventory and the Growing Together curriculum. Another group of 20 Allentown couples strengthen their commitment to each other with the Becoming a Family curriculum, and mothers in the 3rd trimester of pregnancy receive Nurse-Family Partnership pre-pregnancy care.

PURPOSE: In Wilmington, DE, the Delaware Ecumenical Council on Children and Families (DECCF) has created a Statewide Healthy Marriage Initiative, in which faith-based organizations, social service providers, business leaders, and political officials unite to promote Healthy Marriage in Delaware. The program includes a statewide conference to network and better organize to promote healthy families and marriages.
