Human Trafficking Activists Gather at White House

On Dec. 10, ACF's Acting Assistant Secretary George H. Sheldon chaired the meeting of the HHS Technical Working Group on Victim Services.  (Read his comments.) Human Trafficking victim advocates, service providers and researchers were joined by a host of high-ranking government officials from various departments at the White House. They discussed service gaps, challenges and solutions to inform the development of the Federal Strategic Action Plan on Victim Services, an effort co-chaired with the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security. This past year, ACF’s Office of Refugee Resettlement assisted 774 people in its human trafficking division. To learn more how ACF helps victims of trafficking, visit ORR’s Year End Report.
