Consolidated List of Engineering Resources

The following is a list of publications that provide links for software-oriented practices pertaining to the fabrication engineering activities.

General engineering practices

This site maintains an updated list of links to noncommercial Web sites concerned with object-orientation and component topics. The links help to organize and structure this information, offering quick access with an overview of subjects.

This site provides a basic set of introductory information on the Extreme Programming (XP) method. The rules and practices for XP can be adapted as a basis for organizing and executing the many small fabrication projects that make up the overall IT Evolution Plan. The Business Rules Community site contains resources, articles, and other information pertaining to database and business rule design and development. Includes articles from C. J. Date, Ron Ross, and John Zachman, among others.

This site is dedicated to providing links to sites for use case modeling.

Testing and verification techniques

These items may help to identify testing practices.

A list of WWW software testing tools, techniques, articles, and other resources from several vendors.

The Software Quality Assurance/Test Resource center contains links to resources for QA and testing professionals. Contains information on Web site test and management tools at http://www.softwareqatest.com/qatweb1.html.

Software Testing Online Resources from Middle Tennessee State University (STORM) contains a list of links to research and practice of testing.

Reengineering

These items may help when determining the types of activities to be performed on a project that is migrating all or part of an application to a new platform.

A collection of links by Peter Aiken for reengineering resources. This includes books and articles on reengineering, pointers to tools and organizations, as well as case studies.

A set of links from the Esprit program on software reengineering projects it had conducted. Can be used to identify reengineering, migration, and reuse-oriented practices.
