Assistant Secretary Sheldon Highlights Affordable Care Act and Importance of Early Education and Care

ACF Assistant Secretary George Sheldon concluded an eventful two-day visit to Region I in late January. At a meeting with Massachusetts state officials he discussed medical support and the Affordable Care Act emphasizing the critical role of human services in comprehensive health care. He also met with Sherri Killins, Commissioner, MA Department of Early Education and Care. His remarks at the EITC Kickoff event in Worcester focused on the value of asset-building, Head Start and comprehensive supports for individuals and families. In a gathering with ACF staff the Assistant Secretary discussed key aspects of ACF’s strategic plan and listened to concerns and suggestions.
