A Consortium of Longitudinal Studies of Child Abuse and Neglect (LONGSCAN), 2005-2010
The Consortium of Longitudinal Studies of Child Abuse and Neglect (LONGSCAN) consists of five study sites and a coordinating center. Initiated in 1990, LONGSCAN projects are following samples of children who were maltreated or at risk for maltreatment from age 4 until they reach adulthood. A fourth five-year cycle for these grants was funded in September, 2005. Interviews and assessments with children and parents are planned to occur every two years. Additional information about the LONGSCAN projects, including site-level descriptions, measures, and contact information for researchers, can be found at http://www.iprc.unc.edu/longscan/.
