National Clearinghouse and Technical Assistance Center Fact Sheet

The Family Support Center on Disabilities: Knowledge & Involvement Network was funded in 2008 by the Administration on Developmental Disabilities, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.   It offers a centralized resource to individuals with disabilities, their families and the public on the full range of options available to them.  It also provides information and connections to help them make informed choices and participate in decision making.  A variety of resources can be found on topics such as Caregiving, Employment and Independent Living.  State Action Teams have been formed to close a gap, expand services, inform policy and other activities of their choosing to achieve systems change in each locality.  So far, the teams have discussed various topics to include funding, Medicaid waivers, community support services, Money Follows the Person program, grassroots activities and Federal regulation.
