Project Summary: This is a one year project to complete a comprehensive revision of the “Indian-preneur” training course. AIFDF will infuse additional financial literacy concepts throughout the 108 page Manual and the accompanying Power Point Presentation and pilot this in three geographic areas. This project will train twenty-eight Indian-preneurs in the pilot of the revised Indian-preneur training course. This will increase their financial literacy competencies as evidenced by a pre and post financial literacy assessment.

Project Summary: This is a three year project to develop, pilot and revised as necessary methods for lesson delivery with K-6 grades in operation. The project will provide intensive in-service development for teachers and train them to assist in the content delivery methods relevant to Ojibwe students in an immersion setting. This project will also develop local expertise in matters of curriculum methods and content delivery and language training in order to provide training to future teachers and Elder participants. Teachers will reach an advanced level of Ojibwemowin proficiency to ensure a high level of language transmission to the students in grades K-6 at Niigaane.

Five participating teen members will also receive training as Peer Leaders to help facilitation of learning activities.

Project Summary: This is a five year project to establish focus groups at each of the 7 Tribal sites within the Great Lakes Inter-Tribal Council to provide guidance in curricula development, family recruitment and case management processes. An Interdisciplinary Family Case Management Team (IFCM) will be developed at each Tribal site to help strengthen healthy marriages and relationships of up to 10 families per site per year. The IFCMs will provide relationship and healthy marriage educational workshops and community events.

Project Summary: This is a two year project to develop materials to be used for teaching the Anishinaabe language that is specific to hunting, fishing and gathering. The materials will be specifically related to traditional subsistence gathering and harvesting activities and include words and phrases that are specific to those activities. The produced materials will be directed to middle school students and higher. This project will promote cultural awareness by infusing Anishinaabe values, tradition and language into all of its endeavors.
