Annual National Fatherhood is Leadership Conference
The Native American Fatherhood and Families Association is conducting their 9th Annual National Fatherhood is Leadership Conference, November 7th – 9th in Mesa, AZ. Lillian Sparks, Commissioner, Administration for Native Americans, and Earl Johnson, Director, Office of Family Assistance with the Administration for Children and Families (ACF), will be keynote speakers at this conference. Commissioner Sparks will speak on November 7th and will also conduct a workshop on that day to discuss Federal initiatives focused on Fatherhood and will take this opportunity to hear from participants how the Federal Government can continue to promote Fatherhood programs in Native communities. Below are a list of some of the other workshops that will take place at the conference:
- Native American Involvement in Child Welfare
- Re-entry in Native American Communities
- Suicide Prevention/Awareness
- Domestic Violence and Law Enforcement Response
- Working with Fathers to Enhance Parenting Skills
- Strengthening Family Relationships
