Panel Reviewers

About Panel Review

Each year, ANA convenes review sessions to rank and score eligible grant applications.  ANA recruits professionals who possess experience and qualifications relevant to ANA program areas to serve as panel reviewers and facilitators.  Panel reviewers analyze, score and comment on ANA grant applications.  Panel facilitators work with a team of three panel reviewers to facilitate discussion and consolidate comments.  For more information regarding the roles and responsibilities of panel reviewers and facilitators please download the following job descriptions.

What is it like to be an ANA Panel Reviewer?

Grant reviewing is tough and demanding but incredibly rewarding; important decisions rest in the hands of panel reviewers.  As an ANA panel reviewer or facilitator, you may be assigned five to ten grant applications per review session.  You will spend two weeks prior to the panel review session reading applications, taking notes, scoring and commenting on them. During panel review week you will participate in analytical discussions, critical thinking, and writing while working with a panel of reviewers and facilitator.

Panel reviewers and facilitators will be paid for their participation; travel and lodging costs are arranged and paid for directly by ANA.
