Child and Family Services Reviews Update

Volume 1, Issue 8, September 2005

New Promising Approaches on the Children's Bureau Web Site

New promising approaches have been added to the Child Welfare Reviews section of the Children's Bureau Web site at http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cb.The Child Welfare Review Project assists the Children's Bureau in compiling promising approaches that reflect innovative efforts by the States in meeting the needs of children and families.

The 41 new promising approaches highlighted on the Web site are organized into descriptions that include the title of the approach, categories in which the approach is classified, the sponsoring agency, contact information, a brief summary of the approach, and the estimated length of time in which the approach has been in existence.

The promising approaches are listed by State and by category. The categories correspond with the items reviewed in the child and family services reviews (CFSRs). Approaches may be included under more than one category.

State child welfare agencies interested in submitting information regarding additional promising approaches should contact the Child Welfare Review Project by e-mail at cw@jbs.biz or by phone at (301) 565-3260.

The Child and Family Services Reviews Update is designed for professionals interested in the Children's Bureau child and family services reviews. It is supported by the Children's Bureau, Administration for Children and Families, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and published by the Child Welfare Review Project, which is managed by Johnson, Bassin & Shaw, Inc.
