Notes: Among the 32 States, thirteen met the national standard for the recurrence of maltreatment, and seventeen met the national standard for maltreatment of children in foster care.
The national standards for these two indicators are as follows:
6.1% or fewer of all children who were victims of a substantiated or indicated report of maltreatment had a subsequent substantiated or indicated report of maltreatment within a six-month period
0.57% or fewer children in foster care were the victims of substantiated or indicated maltreatment where the foster caregivers were the perpetrators
