INFORMATION MEMORANDUM

TO:    STATE AGENCIES ADMINISTERING OR SUPERVISING THE ADMINISTRATION OF TITLE IV-E OF THE SOCIAL SECURITY ACT

SUBJECT:    Allotment Percentages Under the Foster Care and Adoption Assistance Programs (Title IV-E) for Fiscal Year 1988

CONTENT:    Pursuant to P.L. 99-272, the Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAPs) for 1988 have been recalculated. These percentages shall be used for Fiscal Year 1988 (October 1, 1987 through September 30, 1988) by the Department and by States to compute the Federal share of the total expenditures of maintenance payments and adoption assistance under the Title IV-E-Foster Care and Adoption Assistance Programs, respectively. Attached is a list of the FMAPs.

ACTION REQUIRED:    Use the FMAP to calculate the Federal share of expenditures for Fiscal Year 1988, beginning October 1, 1987
