INFORMATION MEMORANDUM

SUBJECT: Correction of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2000 State Allotment Table for the Chafee Foster Care Independence Program in ACYF-CB-IM-00-03 (Attachment C)

LEGAL AND RELATED REFERENCES: Sections 471, 472, 474, 475 and 477 of Title IV-E of the Social Security Act; Title I, The Foster Care Independence Act of 1999, Public Law 106-169.

PURPOSE:The purpose of this Information Memorandum (IM) is to provide a corrected table of the allotment of Federal funds to States forFiscal Year 2000 under the Chafee Foster Care Independence Program (Title I of P. L. 106-169) enacted on December 14, 1999.

INFORMATION: On March 16, 2000, the Children's Bureau issued ACYF-CB-IM-00-03 that addressed the Chafee Foster Care Independence Program (CFCIP). Attachment C of the IM was a table listing the amount of Federal funds each State was eligible to receive in FY 2000. The amounts listed in Attachment C were incorrect.

The table has been corrected and is attached. Please replace the original table with this corrected version. The electronic version of the IM on the Children's Bureau web site also has been corrected.
