Children's Bureau Grant Programs
The Children's Bureau and ACYF fund service demonstration, research, technical assistance, and training projects focused on knowledge development and knowledge transfer in the areas of adoption, foster care and child maltreatment. Types of grants include:
- Discretionary Grants - The Children's Bureau awards discretionary grants for research and program development, through a competitive peer-review process, to State and local agencies, faith-based and community-based organizations, and other non-profit groups.
- State and Tribal Grant Programs - The Children's Bureau provides matching funds to States, Tribes, and communities to help them operate every aspect of their child welfare systems -- from prevention of child abuse and neglect to adoption -- and the information systems necessary to support these programs.
In general, funding announcements from the Children's Bureau are made in the spring. The announcements are published on
