Based on data from 36 States: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and Wyoming.

"Unknown or Missing" maltreatment type was not included in this analysis.

This table lists the following perpetrator relationships to child victims in the first column: Parent, other Relative, Foster Parent, Residential Facility Staff, Day Care Provider, Unmarried Parent or Partner, Legal Guardian, Other, Unknown or Missing. The second column provides the number of perpetrators for each relationship category. The next four columns are the maltreatment types as follows: neglect, physical abuse, sexual abuse, and additional maltreatment types. Below each maltreatment type the table lists the number of perpetrators in addition to the percentage of perpetrators.
