This bar graph breaks down the fatality victims by type of maltreatment. Each bar represents a type of maltreatment in the following order: neglect only, physical abuse only, multiple maltreatment types, psychological maltreatment only or other only, and sexual abuse only. Most fatalities were associated with physical abuse only (29.9 percent), neglect only (37.6 percent), and combinations of maltreatment types (28.9 percent).
