This table first lists each year from 1990 to 2003. The second column lists the child population in each year followed by the investigation rate in the third column. The fourth column lists the number of reporting States. The next column lists the total number of children who were subjects of an investigation or assessment, and then the victim rate is listed. Next, is a column listing the number of States reporting the victimization data and a column listing the total number of victims. The total victims column is an estimated number of victims, rounded to the 1,000.
