Figure 3-1, Age and Sex of Perpetrators, 1999 DCDC

Figure 3-1 is a bar chart presenting the age and sex of perpetrators of maltreatment. First the distribution of male perpetrators by age is presented, then the distribution of female perpetrators by age.

The data presented in the chart are as follows:

Male
19 years old or younger, represent 6.4% of all male perpetrators.
age 20-29, 24.8%
age 30-39, 40.7%
age 40-49, 20.8%
age 50 years old or older, 7.3%

Female
19 years old or younger, represent 4.7% of all female perpetrators.
age 20-29, 36.8%
age 30-39, 42.3%
age 40-49, 12.4%
age 50 years old or older, 3.8%
