Item 1.1: Some of the preventive services provided were Families Together, Day Care, Homemaker Services, Parenting Education, Mental Health Services, Respite Care, Shelter/Housing Assistance, Substance Abuse Treatment, Social Worker Supportive Counseling, Education Services, Health Services, Food/Clothing Referrals, Transportation Assistance, Emergency Support, and Special Program Referrals. The children were Foster Care or Protective Services clients. The families were Protective Services clients.

Item 2.1: Data were not collected on calls received and not referred for CPS assessment. Data were collected on the number of family-based reports received at intake and the number of children in those reports.

Items 5.1-5.4: Child fatality data were provided by the Child Fatality Review Committee.

Items 7.1 and 7.2: Ten social workers and social service representatives screened complaints for three shifts, providing 24-hour coverage. Thirty-five social workers were responsible for assessing the allegations.

Item 7.3: Actual response time was not collected on each report. Supervisors asked only if social workers had responded within 24 hours. Most of the reports (3,332 of 4,656) were assessed within 24 hours.
