Item 1.1: This includes services such as "children at risk," crisis nurseries, community-based family resources, Family Preservation and Support, and ChildrenÂ’s Trust Account.

Item 2.2: Substitute care providers are found under both "Parents" and "Other."

Item 3.3: This number includes only those children who received services from DCFS. Several children and families were referred to outside services.

Item 4.10: This information was obtained from the Office of the Guardian ad Litem.

Item 6.1: Residential facility staff are included in "Child Day Care Providers" and "Non-Caretakers."

Item 7.3: Four cases that skewed the data were excluded. In one case, for example, a caseworker spent 4 days tracking down a family that had moved.
