NCANDS Survey Instrument

This section contains the survey instruments for the Summary Data Component and the Detailed Case Data Component, as well as the glossary of terms.

• Summary Data Component (SDC) - 1999 Data Year – Includes the Summary Data Component Survey and National Child Abuse and Neglect Data System Detailed Case Data.
• Detailed Case Data (DCDC) - Agency Data File Definitions (Data Elements, Record Layout and Codes) – Includes the specifications for each data element in the Child Record File.

Detailed Case Data (DCDC) - Child Data File Record Layout
(Data Elements, Record Layout and Codes) – Includes a table that defines all of the data elements contained in the Agency Data File.
