Training and Technical Assistance to State Legislators on the Child and Family Services Reviews

Prepared by the Child Welfare Reviews Project
April 2010

Across the country, States are focusing time and resources on strengthening child welfare systems and improving outcomes for children and families. Those efforts often are linked directly to the Federal Child and Family Services Reviews (CFSRs).

Through the reviews, State child welfare agencies work with their State partners to address needed improvements. Among those partners are State legislators, who are key to making—and sustaining—those improvements.

Training and Technical Assistance Available

States interested in enhancing links between State legislators and child welfare agencies now can request training and technical assistance (T/TA) to support those efforts. The T/TA is funded by the Children's Bureau, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
