Child Care Resources for Disasters and Emergencies
Emergency Preparedness and Response Resources for Child Care Providers
The Office of Child Care is committed to providing resources and information to help child care providers and parents become better prepared for emergencies and disasters. Child care providers play a critical role in protecting the health, safety and well-being of children and this role becomes especially important in the event a disaster strikes. It is important that child care providers have disaster plans which include steps for family reunification,
sheltering-in-place, evacuation, relocation, staff training, continuity of operations and accommodation of children with disabilities and chronic health needs. The links below provide access to emergency preparedness and response information drawn from national organizations and State resources and materials developed specifically for child care providers.
