1/ The allotment amounts are based on the President's FY 2002 Budget Request which includes the continuation of all earmarks and is contingent on Congressional appropriations. If Congress enacts and the President approves a different appropriation amount, the allotments will be adjusted accordingly.
2/ The President's FY 2002 Budget Proposal requests an earmark of $400,000,000 for an After School Certificate Program with a high quality education focus for eligible children less than 19 years of age.
3/ Totals are the sum of Mandatory, Discretionary and the Federal Share of the Matching Funds.
4/ The FY 2001 Appropriation set-aside $1,000,000 for a toll-free child care hotline to be operated by Child Care Aware and specified that this amount come out of the $19.1 million earmark for resource and referral and school-age child care activities.
5/ Ten million dollars was earmarked for research, demonstration, and evaluation in FY 2001. The President's Budget requests the continuation of the earmark in FY 2002.
* Estimated allocations for the Matching and Discretionary funds are based on counts used to determine FY 2001 allocations. The actual allocations for FY 2002 will change based on new data.
The State share estimate of the Matching Fund was based on FY 2002 FMAP rates.
