Q. What is the financial institution's liability for the release of account information?
A. Under Sections 466(a)(17)(C) and 469A of the Social Security Act, financial institutions will not be liable under any Federal or State law to any person for disclosure of any account information to the State child support agency, or to the Federal Parent Locator Service, or for surrendering any assets held by the institution.
