If your employer withholds child support payments from your pay and sends it to the State Disbursement Unit (SDU), your employer should continue to send these payments to the SDU as usual. The SDUs in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas are open for business and successfully receiving payments from employers. The SDUs are forwarding child support payments to areas where there is mail delivery.
If your employer sends funds directly to the custodial parent, information on mail delivery in the affected areas is available on the USPS Service website at http://www.usps.com/communications/news/serviceupdates.htm. The site provides daily updates on delivery status for the various classifications of mail.
