New NDNH Warning Codes

Implementation

As of February 6, 2009, an enhancement was applied to the QW, UI and W-4 records, specifically the Employee, Employer, Employer Optional, and Claimant addresses submitted. The address data is analyzed to determine the validity of the data provided. The NDNH uses two types of commercial software (Address Scan and FINALIST) to improve the quality of addresses received. By using this software, the received address data will undergo verification and correction processes and then is formatted in the standard USPS format. Currently, the corrected addresses and warning codes are returned to the submitter. Three new warning codes have been created to notify the submitter that the address could not be corrected through these address verification processes.

Code Information

The three new warning codes are:

Code Description
0070 Employee or Claimant Address could not be corrected.
0071 Employer Address could not be corrected.
0072 Employer Optional Address could not be corrected.

Submitters can improve their addresses, particularly employer addresses, by obtaining valid addresses for those flagged as incorrect.
