TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

Last year, the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) published and distributed to all States a copy of "Directory of Genetic Testing Laboratories" (see Information Memorandum, OCSE-IM-89-7, October 28, 1989). This Directory has been well received.

Plans are underway to publish a revised edition of this directory, and we are requesting your assistance in this effort. Enclosed are the pages of the current directory for your State that you may want to review for updating; please provide information in the same format as the enclosure. We are seeking information on laboratories operating in or doing business with your State, including laboratories that may provide service to and/or contract with only one or more counties in your States.

Additionally, we plan to add a section in the directory on States' best practice(s) for improving paternity establishment, and we invite you to share with us your State's best practice(s). You may provide written details of the best practice(s) along with your updated laboratory listings.

Please send your response by Friday, November 2, 1990.
