Interim report from Oregon's research and demonstration project
December 3, 1990 DC-9028
Dear Colleague:
In an effort to keep Directors of the Title IV-D program informed about current child support research, we are sending you the enclosed executive summary. The executive summary is part of the interim report from the State of Oregon's research and demonstration project on systematic review and adjustment of child support orders. Also enclosed is further information on the project and its procedures.
Please be aware that the results cited in the interim report are only preliminary and are not definitive. In general, cases which are the easiest to resolve make it through the system first and, thus, the interim results are not necessarily an accurate representation of the caseload as a whole. However, we expect to be able to send you an update report based on many more cases in approximately two months. The next report will also have further information on a number of important issues which have arisen during the course of the project. In the mean time, if you need a full copy of the interim report immediately, please contact the Project Officer, Richard Allen, who may be reached at (202) 401-5371
We hope you will find these materials useful in planning for the review and adjustment process in your own State.
Sincerely,
Allie Page Matthews
Deputy Director
Office of Child Support
Enforcement
