Automated Interstate Referral Guide (IRG) Enclosed are updated versions of the "Automated Interstate Referral Guide (IRG) System Manual" and revised master file diskettes. The diskettes are being sent only to the State IRG Users (see enclosed list). We encourage all States to access the system on a regular basis and use it for the intended purpose of assisting States with interstate case processing. This system is a very effective mechanism for assuring that Federal, State, and local addresses are accurate for processing interstate cases. The cooperation of ALL States is necessary to maintain accurate information in the IRG. Presently, there are 6,603 addresses in the automated IRG. We have been encouraging States to download updates on a monthly basis. Several States have not been performing this procedure; therefore, their automated IRGs contain outdated information. Even if States do not have any changes, updates still need to be run to retrieve updates from OTHER States. This procedure is not time consuming. The Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) is distributing an updated master file to give States another chance to use the system and correct any inaccurate information. Staff at OCSE will be glad to assist you with general questions or technical problems. Based on the addresses in the automated system, the National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA) annually publishes a hardcopy of the Guide entitled THE INTERSTATE ROSTER AND REFERRAL GUIDE. Please contact Kathy Duggan at (202) 624-8180 regarding the NCSEA publication. For further information or questions, please contact Hope Butler or Wanda Campbell at (202) 401-5685 for assistance. We look forward to hearing from you soon. Office of Child Support Enforcement cc: All ACF Regional Administrators
