Third Collection Report for Tax Offset

TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

We are pleased to forward to you the third collection report for the 1992 Federal Tax Refund Offset Program. Enclosed is the collection report representing the tax refund offsets for the month of April 1992 minus the service fee and any adjustments made during this period for the 1984 through 1992 processing years. The net collection total for April for 183,230 offsets is $121,105,715. The electronic funds transfer should be effected on May 7, 1992. Enclosed where appropriate is a copy of the April 1992 Collection/Adjustment/Address Report and the corresponding name change report.

The year-to-date net collections have increased from

$291,549,079 in processing year 1991 to $376,041,462 in processing year 1992 or an increase of over 29%. The IRS

attributes this increase to taxpayers filing much earlier than usual.
