Public Affairs and Outreach Information

DC-9221

May 21, 1992

RE: Public Affairs and Outreach Information

I would like to personally thank you for sending us the great public affairs and outreach information materials that your State and local offices use to promote public awareness and inform custodial parents about our program. It means a great deal.

The response has been wonderful, and with the materials that we have received, our index of "best practices" is sure to be of value to child support public information staff.

Many custodial parents lack knowledge about their legal rights to request financial assistance from non-custodial parents, and about child support services that are available. Advertising the services of our program will be extremely helpful to all of the families that need and are entitled to the financial support of an absent parent.

Hopefully, the materials will also help your staff to encourage a change of public opinion about non-payment of child support.

I also wanted to let you know that we might be making calls to your staff to discuss your initiatives in depth.

When we have developed this important inventory of the materials collected, we will sent it out as an Information Memorandum. We plan to update is as needed.

I would also appreciate having any additional materials you produce. It's so important to share with the shortage of time and money that we have today.

Again, thank you.

Sincerely,

Allie Page Matthews
