Occasional Paper Number Two

DC-9228

July 27, 1992

TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

RE: Occasional Paper Number Two

Dear Colleague:

Enclosed is occasional paper number two, "Child Support Received by Teenage Mothers: 1989". This paper summarizes teenage mothers responses to questions asked of all mothers with children present from an absent father during 1989. The data was collected and compiled for OCSE in a supplemental survey to the Census Bureau's Current Population Survey (CPS). Child support surveys are conducted every two years, and the data presented were collected in the spring of 1990.

If you have any questions, please contact either Joyce Pitts at (202) 401-5374 or Sheck Chin at (202) 401-3440.

Sincerely,

Allie Page Matthews

Deputy Director

Office of Child Support
