RE: Safeguarding Procedures

In a recent meeting with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), we were informed that they will be randomly selecting State Child Support Enforcement (CSE) agencies and reviewing their safeguarding procedures to ensure that they are in compliance with the guidelines set forth in the January 1986 IRS publication 1075, "Tax Information Security Guidelines." Therefore, we believe it would be beneficial for all States to once again review these security guidelines to ensure compliance. Enclosed is a copy of IRS publication 1075 for your information.
