TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

Enclosed for your review and comment is a draft of the Interstate Roster and Referral Guide (IRG) grid which contains information about your State.

The grid is a thumbnail sketch of information contained in Section I (State-At-A-Glance Profile) of the IRG. The State-At-A-Glance Profile contains information about States' interstate case processing. It gives program, procedural, and statutory information for topics such as guidelines, long-arm jurisdiction, income withholding, paternity and order establishment, and review and adjustment of orders. This information was updated in December 1992 by the Office of Child Support Enforcement, with State input, and in conjunction with the National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA). A copy of the Profile was sent to each State in December 1992.

The grid will provide IV-D staff with a quick reference of State interstate requirements. Because information from the State-At-A-Glance Profile had to be condensed to accommodate the grid format, mistakes could have been made in the translation. Therefore, we are requesting that you review your State's information against the information recorded in the IRG State Profile, dated December 1992 (copy attached).
