RE: "Tax Information Security Guidelines"

Dear Colleague:

Enclosed are two copies of "Tax Information Security Guidelines" (Publication 1075 dated 1/93) issued by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Please ensure that the Tax Refund Offset, Federal Parent Locator Service, and Project 1099 coordinators are aware of the new issuance. In addition, any individuals who are associated with the aforementioned areas should be encouraged to read Exhibits 1-4 which refer to the areas of disclosure and safeguards. Additional copies may be obtained by contacting the Office of Child Support Enforcement's National Training Center at (202) 401-9383 or the Tax Refund Offset Unit at (202) 401-9389.

It has been brought to our attention that the monthly name change

report that accompanies the monthly collection report was not

aligned properly and as a result the last column (IRS reported

last name) was truncated. A corrected copy is enclosed. Please

ensure that the Tax Refund Offset coordinator receives this

information.
