Test Results from SSA's EVS

June 1, 1990

DC-9323

TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

RE:Test Results from the Social Security Administration's (SSA) Enumeration Verification System (EVS)

Dear Colleague:

Enclosed please find the results of a test OCSE conducted with the Social Security Administration's (SSA) Enumeration Verification System (EVS). The Office of Child Support Enforcement's (OCSE) Special Collections Unit sent 328,505 unaccountable cases from the Federal Tax Refund Offset 1993 processing year's October unaccountable listing to the EVS. The number of cases matched were 261,201, of which 71,849 are cases corrected by the EVS. In other words, 27.5% of the States SSNs were corrected by the EVS system. We encourage States to make these SSN corrections before submitting their Test Tape or Final Submittal tape for the 1994 processing year. For those States who will be submitting a test tape, we encourage you to make these corrections before submitting your test tape since OCSE unaccountable to the EVS system for the 1994 processing year.

If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact the Special Collections Unit on (202) 401-9389.

Sincerely,

Robert C. Harris

Acting Deputy Director
