Interstate Roster and Referral Guide Update

DCL-9528

TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

Enclosed is an updated copy of the State Profile - Section I of the Interstate Roster and Referral Guide (IRG). This updated information is based upon information provided by the State child support agencies and has not been reviewed for compliance with Federal statutes.

The IRG Profile provides a concise overview of each State's interstate child support enforcement procedures. It is designed as a quick reference for frequently asked questions on interstate referrals. This updated Profile includes procedural changes for States that have passed the Uniform Interstate Family Support Act (UIFSA). Upon request, OCSE will provide this information on diskette in Word Perfect 5.1 format.

As you know, the IRG is divided into two sections. Section II, which is automated, consists of a directory of all Federal, State, local, and international addresses for use in processing interstate cases. States are able to update their addresses as they change. The changes are then downloaded by OCSE Central Office staff on the fourth Wednesday of each month for States to upload to their systems. States that do not have on-line access to the IRG automated address system should contact our office.

We strongly encourage States to maintain access to the system and download the monthly updates to assure that you have current address changes from other States. After States have done this, please share the updates with your local offices so they too are aware of address changes. With the continued cooperation of all the States via on-line access, the IRG will continue to be a valuable tool in processing interstate cases.

If you have any questions, please contact Hope Butler of my staff at (202) 401-9391.

Sincerely,

David Gray Ross
Deputy Director
Office of Child Support Enforcement
