RE:Updated List of Federal Agents for Processing Garnishment Orders for Child Support
Dear Colleague:
Enclosed is an updated list of designated Federal agencies for processing garnishment for child support. The purpose of this list is to provide an accurate and up-to-date list of Federal agencies to assist States in the serving wage withholding papers on Federal employers for employees who are obligated to pay child support. This updates the list that was issued last year via
DC-94-31, dated May 16, 1994.
The list contains approximately 800 addresses of designated agents for all agencies, branch and commissions of the Federal government and of the United States Postal Service, both within and outside of the United States. We encourage you to share this updated list with your staff at the state and local levels. A second list is being developed by OPM which will include designated agency contacts to assist and facilitate service upon Federal workers of legal process regarding child support proceedings. We will forward that listing upon receipt.
