Tax Refund Offset Updates

TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

Enclosed are the results of your State's weekly updates to the Federal Tax Refund Offset Program for the 1997 processing year. If accepted, these deletions, modifications, or State payments have been updated on IRS's files. For those cases which were rejected, please review your records to determine if it is necessary to resubmit those cases.

Enclosed you may also find a separate report containing either cases that have been transferred to your State for administrative review, but are being updated by the submitting State; or cases that have been transferred to your State for administrative review and have been updated by you. If the situation is the former, please compare these new updates with the results of your administrative review to see if further action is required. This may necessitate additional consultation with the submitting State.
