ALL IV-D DIRECTORS AND NEW HIRE UI DIRECTORS

Dear Colleague:

Due to the tireless efforts and unwavering support of State agencies, Federal agencies, legislators, private sector, national associations and employers, as of today, our National Directory of New Hires (NDNH) is up and running. This Directory, which was developed in less than one year, will be the largest and most current database of newly hired employee information dedicated to locating noncustodial parents and enforcing child support orders. Within a few hours of becoming operational, over 300,000 records were already transmitted to the NDNH.

Too many parents still try to escape their responsibilities by moving from State to State, job to job, leaving their children with unmet needs and their families unable to stay off welfare. Together, we can now match new hire information against the records of parents every week and track them down before they move to the next job or the next state. It is estimated that the New Hire program will increase national child support collections by $6.4 billion over the next ten years.

This program’s success has only been achieved due to your commitment. OCSE would like to thank you and your staffs’ individual efforts in helping ensure that all children have the future they deserve.

Sincerely,

David Gray Ross
Deputy Director
Office of Child Support Enforcement
