U.S. Department of Health and Human Services
Administration for Children & Families
Office of Child Support Enforcement
DCL-98-126 Nov 30, 1998
TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS
RE: Revised Response Record Specifications for Project 1099
Dear Colleague:
Enclosed please find revised response record specifications for Project 1099. These record specifications are for processing the response to your data submittal, which will be returned to your state by the Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE).
States may submit cases to Project 1099 through the Federal Case Registry (FCR), and for these States, instructions were sent out in the FCR Interface Guidance Document (IGD) (See DC-98-99). The enclosed record specifications, however, are for states that are requesting 1099 data directly from the OCSE Special Collections Unit and are not going through the FCR.
The revisions were made to comply with the Year 2000 processing requirements. Please make sure that these revisions are provided to the technical people in your State as well as the Project 1099 coordinator. Your results will be returned in this new format beginning in the month of December. For those States unable to use the new format by December, we can provide a temporary bridge so the results can be received in the old format.
Please call Joan O'Connor at (202) 690-5375 to discuss your plans for submitting 1099 data.
Sincerely,
David Gray Ross Commissioner Office of Child Support EnforcementEnclosures
