TO ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

RE: OCSE's Eighth National Child Support Enforcement Conference

Dear Colleague:

As you may know, the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement's (OCSE) Eighth National Child Support Enforcement Conference will be held September 28-30, 1998, at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC.

The theme for this year's conference is: Meeting the Child Support Challenge: Children First. Our conference is designed for all State and Federal IV-D professionals, with an emphasis on welfare reform changes, while continuing our focus on cross-program collaboration and training technology, including advances in distance learning.

This year's conference registration is $100. This fee is eligible for Federal Financial Participation (FFP) at the regular matching rate. Enclosed are a tentative agenda and Intent to Register Form. Registration materials will be sent under separate cover.

You will also find enclosed a Housing Reservation Form. Hotel rooms are available for $126 per night (single or double). Participants should reserve a room as soon as possible. The hotel guarantees this rate and room availability through August 27, 1998. For those travelers who need additional in-room services (e.g., fax machine, coffee maker, no-fee telephone access, etc.), you may consider Hyatt's Business Plan or Regency Club accommodations. These are based on availability at an additional fee per day. Suites are also available. Please contact the hotel directly to make your arrangements.

The hotel is located just two blocks from the U.S. Capitol. It is 15 minutes from Washington's National Airport, 45 minutes from Washington Dulles or Baltimore-Washington International (BWI) airports, and only two blocks from AMTRAK's Union Station and Metro subway.

Please inform your staff about this opportunity as soon as possible, and encourage them to attend. If you have any questions or need additional information, please contact the following:

We look forward to seeing you in September.

Sincerely,

David Gray Ross
Commissioner
Office of Child Support Enforcement
