RE : Federal Tax and Administrative Offset Collection Report for June 1998

Dear Colleague:

We are forwarding to you the fifth Collection/Adjustment/Address and corresponding name change reports for the combined 1998 Federal Tax Refund and Administrative Offset Programs. Enclosed is the collection report representing federal tax refund and administrative offsets for the month of June 1998 less the Interal Revenue Service (IRS) fee of $6.80 and the Financial Management Service (FMS) fee of $8.35 per offset and any adjustments made during this period for the 1993 through 1998 processing years.

The net collection total for June 1998 for 91,608 offsets is $70,165,323 as compared to 98,004 offsets for $76,557,474 in June 1997. The Year-To-Date net collection total for processing year 1998 through June is $1,044,642,094 for 1,179,769 offsets as compared to $1,014,363,999 in net collections for 1,156,771 offsets in June 1997.

The transfer of funds through the Automated Clearing House (ACH) is scheduled to be accomplished on June 25, 1998. If you have any questions please contact the Special Collections Unit at (202) 401-9389.
