RE:New Hire Data Summary

Dear Colleague:

As you know, States began submitting New Hire information to the National Directory of New Hires (NDNH) on October 1, 1997. In a continuous effort to maintain the quality of child support data and to provide you with feedback, we have prepared two summary charts about your State's New Hire data. The attached charts provide valuable information regarding the volume of data submitted and the quality of the data received. Please review this information carefully.

Chart 1 provides the following information about your State's New Hire submissions:

number of records submitted by your State from October 1, 1997 - June 15, 1998;
number of records posted (passed the SSA verification routines) to the NDNH;
percent of records that were unverified (did not pass the SSA verification routines) as compared to the national average;
the rejection rate (percent of records that were not posted to NDNH because of incomplete data or duplicate batch numbers) as compared to the national average; and
the contribution your State made to the total number of New Hire records submitted by your Region.

Chart 2 provides the following information about your Region's New Hire submissions:

percent of contribution each region made to the total (national) number of New Hire records submitted.
