DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTER

DCL-04-12

ATTACHMENT:  Summary of changes to the FCR

DATE: March 10, 2004

TO: ALL STATE IV-D DIRECTORS

RE:  Federal Case Registry Interface Guidance Document Version 11

Dear Colleague:

Version 11 of the Federal Case Registry (FCR) Interface Guidance Document (IGD) is now available on the OCSE web site at: http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cse/newhire/library/fcr/fcr.htm.

This update describes the new and clarified functions of many components of the FCR that are necessary for maintenance of the state’s automated interface with the FCR.  It includes all changes to the FCR through FPLS Release 03-01.

To help in understanding those parts of the IGD that have changed, a summary chart is enclosed.  The chart describes each change to the FCR, and cross-references the section(s) of the IGD that are affected by the change.  If the change was part of a release, the release number is indicated.  Minor formatting and grammatical changes made to the IGD were not included in the chart.

An Appendix L, FCR Options for Data Received, has been added to the IGD.  This appendix consolidates the information needed to exercise the various options that allow state managers to customize the types of data the FCR will return to the state system.

For questions about the FCR IGD, or to order a copy of the document, please contact the FPLS Information Line at (202) 401-9267.

Thank you for your assistance in the operation of the FCR.  Your continued support and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we work together to improve the lives of our nation’s children.

Sincerely,

Sherri Z. Heller, Ed.D.
