RE:  Synopsis of the National Child Support Interstate and Systems Symposium - June 6 - 9, 2006

Dear Colleague:

The Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) hosted the National Child Support Interstate and Systems Symposium in Silver Spring, MD on June 6 - 9, 2006. This event brought together State, territory, and tribal IV-D staff, Federal OCSE staff, regional staff, and OCSE contractors to discuss two inter-related subjects. The first subject, Interstate Communications, was covered on June 6 and 7. The primary objective was for program/policy and systems staff to discuss the future for State and Federal systems in interstate communications and data exchange. The second subject, Automated Systems, was covered on June 8 and 9. The objective was to discuss necessary and desired enhancements to State systems.

Enclosed is a summary of the Symposium that provides a brief synopsis of each of the sessions. For additional information on the Symposium, please contact Helen Smith at (202) 690-6639 or helen.smith@acf.hhs.gov or Robin Rushton at (202) 690-1244 or robin.rushton@acf.hhs.gov.

I want to thank all the participants for the time and energy they dedicated to the Symposium.

Sincerely,
