RE: FY 2004 OCSE Annual Report to the Congress

Dear Colleague:

During the week of November 12, 2007, you were mailed a Compact Disk (CD) of the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) 25th Annual Report to the Congress. This report provides information on the progress and accomplishments of the CSE Program for fiscal year (FY) 2004.

In FY 2004, States were able to:

establish 1.6 million paternities through CSE agencies and in-hospital paternities,
establish 1.2 million new support orders,
collect a record $21.9 billion in child support payments, and
limit program expenditures to $5.3 billion.

This report also contains selected state-by-state financial and program data obtained from Federal reports completed by State Child Support Enforcement agencies and a series of graphs and tables presenting financial and statistical information for fiscal years 2000 through 2004.
