ATTACHMENT: Checklist for Distribution Options

TO: STATE AND TRIBAL IV-D DIRECTORS

SUBJECT: Distribution Options under the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005

Dear Colleague:

The Office of Child Support Enforcement (OCSE) has developed an implementation tool titled Checklist for Distribution Options which is designed to aid States in analyzing the various distribution options available under the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005. The checklist addresses how factors such as a State's legislature, budgetary office, automated systems and existing policy may impact that State's decisions-making process.

The checklist is organized in three sections:

Section 1: Organizational Considerations
Section 2: Process Considerations
Section 3: Automation Considerations

It is our hope that the Checklist for Distribution Options will prove to be a useful tool for all States, and especially those that are in the early stages of evaluating which DRA distribution options to adopt.
